BIOGRAPHY





Keogh (b. 1977) has a background in visual art, representing Northern Ireland at the 2005 Venice Biennale and the Republic of Ireland at Experience Pommery #5: L’Art en Europe (2008), as well as exhibiting in London, Spain, Portugal, Chicago, and New York.

His first short film, A Removals Job (2012), commissioned by the MAC Belfast, received a Special Commendation at the Cork Film Festival. Its screenings to date include the Whitechapel Gallery, Encounters Film Festival Bristol—where it was chosen by Dylan Cave (BFI) as one of the standout films of the festival—UnionDocs New York, and a tour with FLAMIN in China and Japan.

The 2015 film, Introducing Brian, was included in the official selection of Raindance London, London Short Film Festival (2016), the Best of Irish Shorts programme at Cork Film Festival, and was the winner of the Belfast Film Festival Shorts Programme.

In 2018, the film A Film About Sandhoppers was widely screened and included in the First Cut Film Festival, Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival (Mexico), and was programmed on RTÉ Player (Ireland) and MUBI.

April 2022 – FLAMIN at Film London nomination for the Jarman Award 2022.

Introducing Brian is the start of a series of films, including:

  • Boldie (2024) – A character introduction to Max, an art-loving Jack Russell Terrier with a penchant for vivisection and toe cleavage.

  • Live Stock (2025) – A film about the international beef cattle trade.

  • Introducing Max – In pre-production, a proof-of-concept short for the feature script Max.
